Merit is continuously evaluating our benefit options to ensure we are bringing you and your employees the best benefit package possible. We are pleased to announce that Effective May 1, 2008 we are moving our Vision Insurance, Life Insurance and Long-term Disability coverages to United Health Care (UHC).

United Health Care is an industry leader in providing quality products at an affordable cost. UHC’s life insurance products include value added services, such as free Will Preparation, Travel Assistance, and Beneficiary Services.  UHC is able to provide these additional benefits with no additional costs to you or your employees.

There will be no action required by you or your employees to facilitate this transition. Employees will automatically be enrolled in the same level of benefits as they currently have.  Employees will be receiving a notification of this change and more information on the plans prior to May 1.  Our regular open enrollment for certain health and welfare benefits will remain effective October 1, 2008.
